Light From Distant Stars

My friend Jeremy recently mentioned a novel by Shawn Smucker called Light From Distant Stars. Having never read any of Smucker's work, I was intrigued to learn the novel is set in a nameless city that feels an awful lot like Lancaster, Pennsylvania (where the author happens to live). Without giving too much of the novel away, let's just say there are corpses and confessions and childhood traumas. It was especially fun – and, yeah, unsettling – to picture most of the story taking place within a few blocks of my old apartment on Lemon Street.
