All That God Cares About

In 2001, Richard Mouw published a short book about the doctrine of common grace called He Shines in All That's Fair. Reading that book was a revelation for me. Now, in All That God Cares About: Common Grace and Divine Delight, Mouw has updated and further developed his earlier thoughts. There's some inside baseball here, so if you're looking for an introduction to the topic, I'd recommend starting with his earlier book.

Be that as it may, this book is vintage Mouw – winsome and persuasive, freely willing to admit where he's changed his mind and why. And he's charitable in his engagement with everyone, from John Howard Yoder to John Piper and lots of Dutch Calvinists in between. That in itself is instructive for me.
